AminoGenesis A.G.E. Control Dual Treatment Anti-Glycation Serum ($49.95, AminoGenesis.
Prior to AminoGenesis A.G.E. Control Dual Treatment Anti-Glycation Serum, very little could be done to target the glycation process and reverse the damage to proteins like collagen and elastin.
But we get questions here at AminoGenesis about the A.G.E. Control serum all the time! Here are ten of the most common questions. If you have more, feel free to contact us in Comments!
1.) I don’t really understand glycation. What does it involve? How much of an effect does it really have on aging?
You may have heard that carbohydrates and sugars are bad for you. There’s a reason for this: Excess carbohydrate turns into sugar in your bloodstream. This leads to a chronically-elevated blood sugar level, which in turn is linked to nearly every chronic condition in the book, from heart disease to diabetes to hypertension (Diabetes).
The skin is no different. When there are sugars in your bloodstream, they bind to collagen, elastin, and other structural proteins in the skin. They cause the collagen in your skin to age faster. It’s a process known as glycation.
Glycation causes the following signs of aging in the skin:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Hyperpigmentation (age spots, discolorations, patches, etc.)
- Thinner skin
- Sagging skin
- Loss of a healthy “glow”
2.) I don’t eat much sugar. Does my skin still have the effects of glycation?
Yes. Studies show that age and cumulative UV damage play a role in glycation (British Journal of Dermatology).
Before 35, glycation occurs with internal and external stressors, like emotional distress, pollution, smoking, chemical exposure, and other toxins. But after 35, glycation starts to accelerate naturally in the skin (British Journal of Dermatology).
Glycation also will accelerate with repeated UV exposure. The more UV exposure you experience, the more glycation will occur.
3.) You say you are the “first” anti-glycation product. But don’t retinoids and alpha hydroxy acids also treat signs of glycation?
Other ingredients, like retinoids and alpha hydroxy acids, can help to treat signs of glycation, like fine lines and wrinkles and skin sagging.
However, these ingredients do not treat the cause of glycation.
Albizia julibrissin, also known as Silk Tree or Mimosa of Constantinople, actually stops glycation in its tracks. This works in two ways:
- First, a “deglycating” effect. This means that Albizia julibrissin may neutralize or detoxify the products as they are leading up to glycation. (US Patent).
- Secondly, a preventive effect against glycation, to prevent its implementation in the first place.
Albizia julibrissin has also been reported in various reputable journals to have antioxidant, anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory properties (Biochemistry and Medicinal Letters, Carbohydrate Research, Glycoconjugate Journal).
4.) How does AminoGenesis A.G.E. Control Dual Treatment Anti-Glycation Serum combat signs of glycation?
Albizia julibrissin stops glycation in its tracks. It may prevent glycation from occurring, and may arrest the by-products of glycation as the process is taking place.

For best results, use AminoGenesis A.G.E. Control Dual Treatment Anti-Glycation Serum twice daily.
